Who controls the portability of wireless phone numbers?

I would like to move my personal wireless number into my Chevrolet Suburban and remove the number that they assigned to me. They refused to do it. What governing government body can I write to for assistance?Who controls the portability of wireless phone numbers?
Well it may be impossible to port numbers over, however, you should call the OnStar company to see if it's even possible. If it's not, that is probably why it was tefused to be done - but should have at least been looked into. You do have OnStar, correct? If so, you should have the number to OnStar and feel free to ask them if that's possible to port over a number.
