Any ideas on how to do this? ThanksHow do you change standard form into ordinary numbers?
10^2 = 100
5* 100 = 500.
The simple way is move the decimal 2 places to the right(the same number as the exponent). If the exponent was negative then move the decimal to the left. So 5 x10^(-2) = .05How do you change standard form into ordinary numbers?
Scientific Form is really just an expression containing a multiplication.
Simply perform the multiplication indicated, and you'll have your number.
In this case, 10虏 = 100, so this is 5 x 100, or 500
By ordinary number, it means to simply complete the operations mentioned using the BODMAS rule
5X10^2=5X100=500
It's the number given (5) with the amount of 0's of the power on the end (2).
