How can i convert decimals into mixed numbers?

I already tried searching for this and not much came up,i was hopeing one of you guys could please simply answer this qestion ( %26amp; maybe give a example pls ? ).thankyou so much!How can i convert decimals into mixed numbers?
Decimal 2.5 is the same as 2 and 5 over 10 or 2 5/10 (two and five tenths) You need to understand that the first place after the decimal is always tenths, the second place is always hundredth, the third place is always thousandths...etc. Hope that helps. Just put the whole number by itself and then the decimal next to it. To decided the denominator of the fraction just put the same number of zeroes as there are numbers after the decimal point. Here is an example:





2.4 = 2 and 4/10 (simplify)


2.4 = 2 and 2/5





54.134 = 54 and 134/1000


54.134 = 54 and 167/500
