Is there a website that explains what the numbers on gold jewellery means?

my daughter has inherited quite alot of jewellery which she doesn't want to keep. what would be the best way to sell it, apart from ebay and how can we get an idea of what typr of gold it is?????Is there a website that explains what the numbers on gold jewellery means?
Take it to a jeweler to be appraised. If it has numbers on they just tell you how much gold is actually in the piece. The higher the number the more it's worth. Also the higher the number the softer the pirece will be.Is there a website that explains what the numbers on gold jewellery means?
the numbers are the type of gold it is 14K or 18k it is good gold and 10k it is a soft gold most like 10k I do are they with stones or without your color stones were better in the old days so many now are lab just think if you save some and you have children they will be pased on and be worth more. . good luck I wish I could see it is it rings or pins pins are hard to come by they go fairly high. e mail me at my friends keith_mcneal@sbcglobal.net.
They use to have all the gold markings and meanings in the Argos catalogue.

Or you could try an antique dealer.
