What is the purpose of the Book of Numbers?

In reading through the Bible, I found that the best sleep I ever got was while attempting to read Numbers. In your estimation, what value to you as a Christian does the Book of Numbers have? What lessons can you learn from this book?What is the purpose of the Book of Numbers?
GeneologyWhat is the purpose of the Book of Numbers?
'; numbering the redeemed chosen people '; '; Inheritances ';

Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.

Revelation 14:3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
It was about laws and events of the time. Inheritances, division of land, etc. On a more spiritual level, the number 4 (4th book) is the number of the earth. There are ';types'; of Christ in this book that relate to Christ as the Son of Man on earth.
the purpose of the book of numbers is to perpetuate the myth of god and the fact that thru religion you can keep humans in check.
It defines who belonged where. It comes in very handy if you read the entire Bible.
It helps the believers sleep.
It is in this book that our God established the military draft system for His nation.
anything in the ordinary
It made the bible thicker
I also see it as a sleep aid.
To teach people how to count.
i dunno, ill find out later in life
