Does anyone know how high your cholesterol numbers can be?

I know that good is 200, and anything over that isn't.Does anyone know how high your cholesterol numbers can be?
Amazingly, my uncle's cholesterol was in the 800's and his doctor couldn't believe he was still alive.Does anyone know how high your cholesterol numbers can be?
If your doctor comes out, looks at the paperwork, looks at you...looks back down at your chart and asks, ';Do you DRINK gravy?'; You might have a cholesterol problem.

:)

Ok, seriously, there are two parts to your cholesterol number and they're both important in their own way. Do some research!
they can get up to 300 or even 400 in some people. Under 200 is good, but you need to check your LDL to HDL ratio. See your doctor.
Based on the NCEP ATPIII 2001 Recommendations:

Desirable: %26lt;200mg/dl

Borderline: 200-239 mg/dl

High: %26gt;=240 mg/dl
