Why is the set of positive real numbers not closed under subtraction?

counter example: 3-5=-2

you see, when you do this operation on two numbers that belong the positive real numbers, you gen get a negative number, which contradicts the closure.

on the other hand, if you subtract to real numbers, you will always get a real number, thus the real numbers are closed under subtraction
