Should legal immigration be limited to much lower numbers?

And what should be done to the illegals?Should legal immigration be limited to much lower numbers?
Yes. Especially with the high numbers of unemployment.

And send them back. We could create 2-3 million jobs just by hiring people to gather up illegals and send them back to their country.Should legal immigration be limited to much lower numbers?
No. The current laws should be enforced, and those who will not comply with them - states, city safe havens, etc. - should be subject to having federal funds reduced or eliminated. This is not what is going to happen, however. The reason why is that those who do manage to play the game legally are often close to those who don't, and so they will vote for the party that 'represents' (Democrats/liberals/socialists). Once amnesty is force-fed on the American people due to Democratic majorities, it will secure their votes as 'citizens', keeping them in power as the number of hispanics grows. Illegals should be subject to existing laws, which require deportation. State and local governments refuse to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and they can get away with it because no real punishment exists for doing so. As I said, the current power players in congress will introduce immigration reform (amnesty), and this time it will pass.
They should be limited to something around zero. The word ';illegal'; in that phrase should suggest something. For the current illegals, I would be satisfied with just making it illegal to hire them, and legal to investigate their status again. As it is now, they are taking our jobs and depressing our wages, and draining our economy by somewhere around 100 billion dollars a year through free social services. That's the number one thing that's breaking our economy.
Big Business loves illegal immigrants; they get cheap labor while the immigrants get jobs, it's a win-win for them. Of course they'll never say that on tv. It's a major loss for the average blue collar American. I wish people would understand that it isn't a xenophobic issue, nor a right wing / left wing issue. The truth is, illegal immigration is harmful for everyone involved. The businesses could strong arm the illegals into staying with them under sweatshop wages due to threat of deportation, while American citizens can't find their own work and have to pay for those miscellaneous healthcare services. If we had a more comprehensive intelligence agency on immigration that focused less on bureaucracy and more on efficiency, it would solve the problems of everyone involved (except Big Business, because they'd have to pay everyone higher wages.)
No. Of the legal immigrants that I've known, ALL of them were very useful members of our society. They work--and they work hard and long hours. They are very grateful for being here. They participate in the community and in politics. They have all valued our educational opportunities. They have been eager to learn about our history and political systems. Truth be told, they are sometimes better citizens than many of our natural born citizens. I don't think that we bring in enough legal immigrants to effect our economy negatively.

Illegal immigrants are a very different story. I would like to enact laws with very stiff penalties for employers who hire illegals and landlords who rent to them. We need to stop all funding for them. They should not be in our schools since our schools tell us they don't have enough resources. We should seek them out and deport them---and then charge their country of origin for our trouble in dealing with their citizens.

If a person is not going to respect our laws when they come here, why would I believe that after citizenship they will suddenly start to respect our laws? We don't have the resources to care for our own legal citizens and we certainly don't have the funds to support the law-breaking citizens of another country.
Which ones, the ones business and other employers hire illegally, or the ones the Republicans import to work for less?

I say charge their employers and illegals would stop almost. They are criminals. Being an illegal is a civil violation, not a criminal one!

We imported 880,000 of them last year. I don't have a clue why we allow the importation of any, other than employers want to pay slave wages! Over the past 8 years that has increased under Bush!
Well my ancestors weren't immigrants and neither were yours, so let's just kill them on in a big, hyperbole ball of doom.

Wooo, I don't understand how the world works.
you dont wanna get me started cuz ill write a novel to your *** about the F*cked up immigration policies... ';the illegals';

racist.
Yes, it should be limited. For the illegals, Jail them for a really long time, they did break our laws after all. Put them in our worst prisons!! Prisons like ADX, Colorado.
Only take in immigrants that can prove that they can contribute to society productively
