Would your odds of winning a lottery be greater by using computer pick or numbers you choose over and over?

Would it make a difference? It would seem to me that by using the same numbers over and over you would have more of a chance than by using different numbers every draw. What does everyone else think? i know a chick who can suck a ping pong ball through a garden hose.usually the it is a 50/50 split between computer picks and hand picks....if the computer made the pick 85% of the time she could still suck a ping pong ball through a garden hose...Would your odds of winning a lottery be greater by using computer pick or numbers you choose over and over?
Your odds on each drawing are exactly the same.





For example, in power ball there are 195,249,054 possible combinations. You hold one of those combinations.





Next week, there will be the same number of combinations, and you will still hold one combination.





Over the long run, each set of winning numbers should show up eventually. In that sense, it might make sense to stick with one set of numbers.





Unfortunately, in gambling the long run is extremely long.





At two drawings per week, it will take at least 1,877,394.75 years before you will see every possible combination.
Here's one where the book doesn't match reality.





On paper there is no difference.





But studies show that in Keno, people (using a system they believe in) win more money without random picks.





But for some reason when a computer picks super long shots (the millions to one shots) for the huge jackpots, it's slightly more effective than the system bettors.





Then again, the system bettors don't usually play the lottery again!
